Ely Youth Ski League is part of Minnesota Youth Ski League and together we are a volunteer organization whose main goal is to help youth learn to love winter and the outdoors through nordic skiing.
We offer an 8 week ski program for children preschool age to 5th grade. We meet on Sundays in January and February at Hidden Valley from 2-3:30. Our program’s emphasis is learning to cross country ski through fun and games as well as instruction of nordic ski techniques to gain skill and fitness for this wonderful lifelong sport.
Over the years your child will learn to both classic and skate ski through the different MYSL group levels lead by our volunteer coaches. Our youngest skiers attend the first level with their parents or another supervising adult. Classic skiing is the focus on Sundays and older skiers have the additional opportunity for skate lessons Thursdays 4:30-5:30.
The cost for the 8 weeks of ski lessons is $40 per skier. This can be paid electronically while signing up online on the MYSL website. Follow the link to sign up. https://www.myxc.org
We offer youth ski rental for the season for $10 per skier with a $50 returnable deposit (by check made out to EYSL). Both are paid directly to us locally. Deposit checks will only be cashed if skis are not returned. Contact jenstouffe
We also ask that our ski league families become members of Ely Nordic Ski Club.
The ENSC generously allows us to use the chalet and provides all the grooming.
